Bellavista is a coffee produced by Edilberto Coronado in Colombia, in Santa María, Huila, at 1,850 meters above sea level. The coffee is washed and the variety is Java. The cup is clean and complex: Geisha-like florals, bright and layered fruit, and a light, berry-jam sweetness. You can find stone fruit and a distinctly tea-like character, hibiscus, and creamy oolong/green tea notes. An elegant and highly individual coffee that truly stands out.
The farm’s name, Bellavista, meaning “beautiful view”, perfectly captures the surrounding scenery and the farm’s location. Bellavista is a 3-hectare farm with around 13,000 coffee trees. Alongside coffee, Edilberto also grows fruit trees and keeps a small vegetable garden. The coffee reaches us through the green coffee importer Nordic Approach.
Edilberto established Bellavista 32 years ago and built his home there with his family. Today, three people live on the farm, and coffee has always been both the main source of income and the heart of everyday life. Bellavista employs six workers in total: five permanent employees who take care of day-to-day farm maintenance and processing, and one seasonal picker during the harvest.
Edilberto’s approach is reflected in every step: cherries are hand-picked at peak ripeness, and processing and drying are carried out with care to keep the cup clean, balanced, and expressive—one that reflects both Huila’s terroir and the producer’s uncompromising dedication.
