This is a truly special espresso: coffee of the Pink Bourbon variety, processed naturally, from Alexander Vargas Osorio's farm in the Huila region of Colombia. The flavor profile is exotic fruit with a subtle floral quality, while the mouthfeel is velvety and sweet.
Alexander Vargas Osorio comes from a family of coffee growers, and in the early 2000s, he decided to start cultivating coffee himself on his own farm. He bought land in the area and set out to purposefully build La Piragua coffee farm from scratch. He planted coffee trees, acquired processing equipment, fermentation tanks, and space for drying the coffee beans. Today, he owns 10 hectares of land, 7 of which are dedicated to coffee. In 2006, he decided to focus solely on specialty coffee, which would allow his family to live better. Alexander's name is well-known, especially from competitions like the Cup of Excellence, where his coffees have performed admirably.
The Pink Bourbon variety has gained recognition in the coffee world recently. We used this variety to win the 'Nordics Best Roaster' competition, which we ultimately won. The combination of this variety with natural processing makes this coffee a true delicacy!
